Stylized black and white image of Kurt rising from a bluish purple band; wind blowing through his long hair and a bowl spinning above his upturned left hand. Titled The Hairy Potter with his motto: "If you don't see what you want, he can proably make one materialize for you."

Most of the plates on this page are in use at  someone’s house, but the images will give you an idea of what I’ve made to serve food at the table.  The pictures include descriptions of color patterns for the visually impaired, while the captions provide dimensions of the plate displayed.  All work on this page is high-fired which make them dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe.

I have been working on plates with the intent of having them be similar in size and dimension.  Being individually made, I have only just begun to be more consistent.  While I apply glaze combinations with the same methods, the shape of the plate and the firing process often alters the finished product significantly.

A "Charger" is a much larger than usual plate used as a place holder at a table setting. This round piece has a rounded lip and wide flange which has affected the glaze results. From the outer lip toward the center, there is a light lilac purple rim followed by a dark royal blue ring that fades into a light lilac up to the edge of the flange. The functional part of the plate is ringed by a thin lapis line that frames a nebulous melding of azure, indigo, dark sky blue, lilac, amethyst, and grape.
